The Allman Brothers Band - Live At the Fillmore East

The Allman Brothers Band - Live At the Fillmore East

The Allman Brothers Band: Gregg Allman (vocals, piano, organ); Duane Allman (guitar, slide guitar); Dickey Betts (guitar); Berry Oakley (bass); Jai Johanny Johanson (drums, congas, timbales); Butch Trucks (drums, tympani).

Additional personnel: Elvin Bishop (guitar, background vocals); Thom Doucette (harmonica); Rudolph Carter (saxophone); Steve Miller (piano); Bobby Caldwell (percussion).

One of the most authentic live documents of the time (it was recorded during 1971), the album is also a cornerstone of what was called "Southern rock". Duane Allman and Dickey Betts were the first (or among the first) to define the guitar duo. The Allman music has its deep roots in the American blues. There are on the album extended guitar jams like never heard before.
