Schecter guitars? - jtees4 - 18:12 09-11-05

I've been looking at a few but know little about them.
1. How are they quality wise?
2. Are they all Korean made? If not how can I tell one from the other.
Thank you.

I don't know if they're all Korean made, but they are really good
quality guitars for the money. PLay seveal in a big store like
Guitar Center and you'll find a really good one to take home.

got one and had to return it because it wouldn't stay in tune and kept
developing fret buzz, even after multiple setups. frets had to be filed down
too. cheap tuners. nice looking guitar though. based on my experience, i
wouldn't buy them, but hey, that's just me.

Thank you for the info. I am planning on a buying one used only when I
can get it for the price I want..if not I won't buy one. I'm also
looking at some Carvins used and many others for that matter. I only
buy when the price is right. Take care.

Interesting. I bought a Schecter S-1 to tide me over while my Carvin is
being built.
I have NO complaints about the Schecter. It's a damned fine guitar for
$399.
The finish is perfect, Grover tuners, real MOP and Abalone inlays, nice
rosewood fingerboard, no buz, coil tap and decent pickups.
The only thing I added was a set of Duncan Strap-Locks (can't see how anyone
goes without these).
It was a far better guitar than any of the Epi's I saw in the store, which
is what I originally went in to get.

My bass player picked up a Schecter Robert Smith Model. Because he like
the inlays. And it is a nice guitar. I was amazed at the body weight
and the solidness of the instrument. I am thinking about getting one
myself as I need some humbuckers in my line up.

I know what your saying. However, I LOVE DiMarzio's solution much
better. And you get a strap and locks for ~$10.

Ed Roman would tell you they are overpriced.
