Anyone own a Mr. Potato guitar? - Lucius O'Toole IV - 03:01 10-11-05

His site, mr-potato.com, isn't working anymore. I wonder what's
happened to his business. (small korean shop, rave reviews on Harmony
central).

Funny. I never heard of the company until yesterday (in the "buying a
guitar in Korea thread). But now I covet one, simply because of the
name.
I desperately want to be able to say, "I have a Fender guitar, an
Epiphone, an Ibanez and a Mr. Potato".

It looks like they must have taken down or are having a problem with
the home page. This URL works:
http://www.mr-potato.com/htmls/electric.htm

I've got to be honest, I've never even heard of a Mr Potato guitar before
now! After having a deck at their website though, I can see that the prices
of these guitars are more in keeping with what I would like to spend on a
guitar if I were just starting out playing. Are they any good though? I
mean, how do they fare against other manufacturers, like say, Ibanez for
instance? I'm in the UK and believe me, I'd be hard pushed to find a sub
£100 guitar that I could actually play, and the best I could come up with
when I tried some more obscure makes were those made by Westfield. The
Westfield LPs were particularly in abundance for just under a ton. However,
the Mr Potato range might do well in the UK if they were put about a bit
more, but like I said, I still don't know how good they are as a playing
machine, but they certainly look the part...'for that kinda money that is.
I'd sure like to have the chance to try one or two if these.

I got a casio DG-20. Thats as DEVO as a guitar can get with Casio sounds,
nylon strings, headless and MIDI interface........plus it weighs a ton with
batteries.
And no more tuning problems.

As a person old enough to remember when "Mr. Potato Head" did not come
with a plastic potato and you had to use a real one.....I will
definitely check this site out based on the name alone.
