Jimmy Vivino Epi from Fab Faux show - roger - 22:54 13-11-05

Does anyone know about this guitar? I saw it up close during the show
yesterday.
I couldn't find any info on it.

(BTW, the Fab Faux do AMAZING Beatle covers. I saw Cream a few weeks
ago, and these guys were WAY more entertaining IMHO. The tickets for
the Fab Faux were $60 vs. $200 I paid for Cream. If you have an
opportunity to see them, don't miss it!)

Thanks
Roger

I was interested in the paint job. Was it a part of some custom model
run or is it a one-off job?

Roger:

Jimmy's "Yellow Sub" guitar is actually an Epiphone Riviera with Casino
pickups and tailpiece. With this configuration, in effect, Jimmy has a
Casino with a solid block of wood in the middle (like a Gibson 335) to
control feedback.

The paint job was done several years ago by Doug Miller (Miller
Customs) of Houston, TX. Not sure if Doug's still in business; I'm
fortunate to have one of his guitars also, via Jimmy - a lefty "Rocky"
Fender Strat.

Glad you liked our show!

Cheers,

Frank (The Fab Faux)

WOW!!!! I didn't expect one of the Fab Faux to lurk here. Thanks for
the info Frank!

I hope you guys know how much you annoy guitar loving fans. How can I
enjoy myself when you have techs running out after every song with one
amazing guitar after another?

NOW, I have to convince my wife that I need another Gretsch, Rick and
Epi. Can't you guys do a show with just one axe. Try those Line 6
Variax jobs and leave the good stuff at home.

My daughter fell in love with your drummer and I just dropped almost
$2K on a set of Roland drums because of your stupid band. I will NEVER
see any of your shows again unless I win the Lotto soon.

Cheers
Roger
