I'm considering buying a MAYA LES PAUL copy...Black... made in Japan
..probebly from around 1980 ....any body know or have an opinion on this

Jap guitars from that era can be fun. I have a handful, though none of
them are Maya. It all depends on the condition and on how much you're
being asked to pay for it - how much is that please?

I have a Maya cherry SG copy. Couldn't find much info at the time I
bought it but did find they were made in Kobe, Japan which was pretty
well destroyed in the 1995 earthquake.
I love the guitar. The workmanship is very good. Binding (all the
way around), tuners, inlay, finish, electronics and neck are all good
to high quality. Setup, including intonation, was perfect when I got
it and has remained that way. The only questionable aspect is the
weight. It feels a little light to me. Here's some pics starting at

I'm sure I've played one of these a long time ago, but I'll be damned
if I can remember anything about it other than it being black and a
bolt on neck. Some of these Les Paul copies were pretty good guitars
that were routinely beefed up with Dimarzio pick-ups.

It was on Ebay uk ....I didn't get it....it went for £70 (around 120 USD)
