Vintage AC30 - RK - 13:09 29-11-05

I have a vintage AC30, It's been refurbished and it sounds fine. I'm playing
a vintage Strat through this amp and it really sounds fine but I have
recently heard a vintage strat through a vintage Fender twin reverb amp and
was amazed, the punch, the twang (English is my second language, hope you
the my meaning) what to do?

Sell the Vox. get a Twin. Simple
I like both amps, you can get a good twin quiet cheaply in the UK

I know it may sound odd, but I'm a bit reluctant when I read how popular
the AC30 is?
Which would you prefer?

Its not a question of what anyone else wants, but what you want. A fender
Twin, a good one can kick arse like an AC30, i would keep it my self as i
love the vox sound more. But if you want the fender sell the vox and get
one.
What speakers does the Vox have? What age is it? It could be worth £800
maybe more. you could get a twin for £5-600 and get some pedals with the
rest.
Maybe you just need a booster pedal or compression or delay something to add
a vibe to the AC30.
You cant really beat a Fender through a fender. But put an Les Paul through
the Vox and hear that!
For me the perfect tone is a Gibson 335 through an AC30 with a Hotcake
in-between, What!
Don't listen to anyone but you self on Tone. Its your ears you need to
please.
If you like that TWANG sound, maybe get a TELE as well.
Aaron

Some people are never pleased with anything.

Nah ... some people just like more than one flavor. Vox AC30 is a nice amp,
but it won't punch like a Twin. If the shoe was on the other foot, it might
be the Vox inspiring GAS.

Two entirely different amps, that's all. And if you want both sounds you'll
need both. Or try a Music Man 65...a little smaller than a Twin, less
expensive. Oh yeah, and they're 'vintage' since that seems to be an
important part of your equation.
