Squier Standard Strat - jazu - 03:05 07-12-05

Anyone checked this guitar lately?
I really like it.
What do you guys think about this strat?

I heard that squirers are made of alder nowadays, but they are made of like
5 or more peices of alder, the hardware and pickups is not very good (from
certain points of view) the trem is most likely die cast 6 hole trem which
goes out of tune if you use it too much. they are great guitars if you leave
them alone, same for the mexican strat. If you are buying this for modding
(changing pickups and stuff) to an American spec then you might as well buy
the American one. If you wanted custom guitar go with Warmoth.

I think if you showed up for an audition with one no one would take you
seriously.

Can't comment on the Strat per se.

I have had a Squire Standard Tele for a while now and it's rather good
value for the money. Nice feel to the neck.

If the Standard Strat is of similar quality, it might be a good buy.
According to reviews I have read, the Affinity Strat may be of lower
quality.

The more pieces of wood you use the stronger the guitar is and less
likely to warp. Its also more expensive to build due to the labor
involved in having more to glue. I worked on my brothers Sqire Srat
awhile back and its hardware ,fret dress and electronics were just as
good as any American Standard made. I didnt check to see what year it
was built because I didnt care at the time.No problem with the tremolo
because its blocked solid . I cant vouch for any other Squires but that
one was top notch.

Unless they werent little kids or fools they would. Especially if you
knew how to play it. Some of you guys need to get your heads out of the
sand . Fender probably laughs their asses off every time they sell an
American Standard.

Your thinking is wrong my friend. How about showing for audition with
vintage 59 strat and playing like a beginner.
I think that serious band who make audition wouldn't care what kind of
guitar you would bring.

I own a MIM Fat Strat that I think is excellent all the way around. It has
great tone and I love the feel of the neck--smooth frets, just a good
guitar.
That said, the place where I buy a lot of my gear has an older guy who does
most of the tech work. Recently, he just took a few Squire Strats and
modified them--put it all kinds of hot pups, rewired and tapped etc.--the
end result is that pros who come in to get something pick one up and feak
out---they are fabulous guitars and sound as good as any "vintage axe" in
the shop. I must admit, I was very surprised---but there they were, about
five of them and all looking and sounding great.
